- Nightwolf and Shao Kahn are mentioned but not playable, both are mentioned by Mirakirahhasi. They are both mentioned in her biography. Kahn is mentioned also in the introduction also said by Mirakirahhasi.
- Tremor and Kabal are the only characters to not have weapons, they instead have a third fighting style. Also to be noted they are both Black Dragon members.
- This is the first game to have a whole family participate in (Khameleon, Reptile, and Mirakirahhasi).
- Some fighters are only on a certain side to get closer to their enimies (Ex. Li Mei and Shang Tsung and Scorpion and Quan Chi)
